Politren SV-2
Cooling lubricant
Specificity
- Politren SV-2 – smokeless water-graphite cutting fluid (CL)
- It is used for lubricating mandrels and mandrels during hot rolling of steel pipes, removes scale
- It is used for hot stamping of steel, hot upsetting of pipe ends, hot rolling of wheels
- It is supplied as a concentrate, diluted with tap water during use

Performance characteristics
- When applied by spraying, it forms a dry, well-adhering layer of lubricant on the surface of a heated tool
- Reduces friction
- Improves product quality
- Separates the surfaces of the forging and tool from each other and ensures uninterrupted removal of forgings
- Prevents defects on the workpiece, promotes good filling of molds, improves the surface quality of forgings
- Reduces the proportion of defective parts
- Increases the durability of forging dies
- Reduces overheating of individual areas of the forging die
- Does not corrode tools and machine parts
- Does not emit smoke or toxic fumes, does not burn
- Does not have any harmful effects on the health of service personnel
Use
- Supplied as a concentrate, it must be diluted with water before use
- Easily diluted with water (it is recommended to use a device with a stirrer for mixing with water)
- In the technically required concentration, it is an economically advantageous lubricant for forging dies; the optimal degree of dilution is determined empirically directly during operation; the degree of dilution depends on the configuration, weight and material of the forgings; the duration of the forging process, the duration of the deforming operation; the cooling effect that must be achieved.
Application of coolant to the forming tool
Politren SV-2 in the form of a ready-made mixture diluted with water is recommended to be applied to a heated forming tool by spraying at low pressure (up to 5 bar).
Safety Requirements, Toxicological Properties and Environmental Protection
The cutting fluid Politren SV-2 is a non-flammable liquid.
According to toxicological properties in accordance with GOST 12.1.007-76, the cutting fluid Politren SV-2 belongs to the lowest hazard class IV of low-hazard chemical products.
The most toxic component polluting the air of the working area is graphite. The maximum permissible concentration (MPCv) of the cutting fluid Politren SV-2 in the air of the working area for graphite aerosol is 4 mg/m3.
When contacting the skin of the hands and the mucous membrane of the eyes, the liquid Politren SV-2 does not have an irritating effect and does not have the ability to sensitize.
The premises where work is carried out with the Politren SV-2 cutting fluid must be equipped with continuous supply and exhaust mechanical ventilation.
When preparing working solutions, the requirements of the “Sanitary Rules for Working with Cutting Fluids and Technological Lubricants No. 3935-85” dated September 29, 1985 must be observed.
The air quality in production premises is monitored for the content of graphite and ammonia aerosols, and is carried out within the timeframes agreed upon with local sanitary inspection authorities.
When disposing of used cutting fluid, the maximum permissible limits for the most toxic component are followed. The maximum permissible concentration of the cutting fluid Politren SV-2 in water bodies (MPCv), determined by the most toxic water-insoluble component, graphite, is 10 mg/l, and by the most toxic water-soluble component, the surfactant, it is 0.5 mg/l.
To develop and manufacture its products, POLIHIM uses its own laboratory and production facilities, which are equipped with all the necessary equipment.
