Specificity
  • The E Politrens (Politren E-21, Politren E-22 and E-28) are concentrated water miscible cooling lubricants, based on oil, emulsifiers, anticorrosive additives and a solid filler.
  • The Politren E product family is a water emulsion used as a cooling lubricant for press tools used in hot metal forming, in particular in molds for pressurized casting of aluminum alloys. The Politren E-based emulsions have an increased service life, high emulsion stability, low foaming, and increased anti-wear and anti-corrosion properties.

Performance characteristics

Politren E-21 is supplied as a concentrate, it must be diluted with water before use. When diluting, it is enough to use a regular mixer and stir for 10-30 minutes. The degree of dilution is determined experimentally directly at the workplace.

Approximate data for dilution:

  • complex castings – 5-10 parts of water to 1 part of coolant
  • medium-complexity castings – 10-20 parts of water to 1 part of coolant
  • simple castings 20-50 parts of water to 1 part of coolant

The coolant is applied to the mold surface by spraying. The working air pressure in the spray system is 4-5 atm.

Advantages
  • when applied by spray, it forms a uniform lubricant layer on the mold surface
  • reduces friction, resulting in reduced casting extraction force
  • separates the casting and mold surfaces from each other and ensures trouble-free removal of castings
  • prevents the occurrence of defects in the casting, improves quality of casting surface, promotes good filling of molds
  • reduces defective castings rate
  • improves durability of molds
  • reduces overheating of individual parts of molds
  • does not contain substances that cause metal corrosion
  • does not corrode tools or machine parts
  • does not produce smoke or toxic fumes
  • easy to wash off from equipment surface
  • does not cause harmful health effects
Safety Requirements, Toxicological Properties and Environmental Protection

Concentrate Politren E-21 is a non-flammable liquid, after evaporation of water – a flammable liquid with a flash point in an open crucible of at least 140 ° C.

The main components that pollute the air of the working area when using Politren E-21 coolant are mineral oil aerosol (maximum permissible concentration – MAC 5 mg / m3), triethanolamine aerosol (MAC 5 mg / m3), graphite aerosol (MAC 4 mg / m3) and traces of ammonia (MAC 20 mg / m3).

The premises in which work is carried out with Politren E-21 must be equipped with continuously operating supply and exhaust mechanical ventilation.

Monitoring the state of the air environment in production premises is carried out according to the schedule for monitoring the air environment of the workshop, agreed with the local sanitary and epidemiological service.

The service personnel working with the cutting fluid Politren E-21 must be provided with a set of special clothing and personal protective equipment in accordance with standard industry standards.

When preparing working emulsions of the cutting fluid Politren E-21 and when using them, the requirements of the “Sanitary Rules for Working with Lubricating and Cooling Liquids and Technological Lubricants”, No. 3935-85 dated September 29, 1985, must be observed.

If the cutting fluid Politren E-21 gets on the skin of the hands or face, it must be removed with a clean soft cloth, the remains must be washed off with plenty of water or rinsed with warm water.

If the cutting fluid gets on the working parts of the mechanisms, remove it with a cloth and wash off the remains with water.

When disposing of used cutting fluid, follow the maximum permissible standards for the most toxic component. The maximum permissible concentration of the cutting fluid Politren E-21 in water bodies (MPCv), determined by the most toxic water-insoluble component oil, is 0.4 mg/l, by the most toxic water-soluble component triethanolamine, it is 1.4 mg/l; the maximum concentration of Politren E-21, determined by triethanolamine, fed to bio-treatment (MCb), is 5 mg/l.

To develop and manufacture its products, POLIHIM uses its own laboratory and production facilities, which are equipped with all the necessary equipment.
